What is a MicroHome?

A MicroHome is a dwelling on wheels.

Each MicroHome is self contained, comes equipped with full amenities and can be used in a variety of different ways. It can be used as a home away from home, granny flat, airbnb, teenage retreat, backyard office, art or yoga studio …  the options are limited only by your imagination.

A MicroHome is different to a caravan or tiny house and is designed for safety and longevity, is bushfire rated and much more spacious.

What can a MicroHome be used for?

Each MicroHome is a fully functioning home with every amenity you would expect. It can be used as a granny flat, teenage retreat, holiday home or an AirBNB investment. The options are endless.

Is a MicroHome the same as a “tiny house”?

MicroHomes are not quite the same as a “tiny house”.

Our clever chassis design has been engineered so that we can build to the maximum limits of an oversized load vehicle, allowing us to offer a massive 3.2m wide room, just like a normal bedroom. It also means you can close the door – just like a normal bedroom, so even though you might be living small you don’t need to give up your privacy. There’s a range of other benefits this offers, which we’re happy to talk to you about. If you would like to visit our showroom, head to the contact page to book a time.

Can I view a MicroHome?

Yes! We always have at least one demo in the workshop so please contact us to make an appointment.

How much does a MicroHome cost?

Prices start from $145,000 for our most popular Urban One Bedroom model. This includes installation.

This does not include power, water and sewage connection, or registration fees.

How long does it take to build a MicroHome?

Our standard build time is approx 8-12 weeks from signing contracts and receipt of deposit, subject to material availability.

What warranty do I get with a MicroHome?

All projects completed by the MicroHomes Group come with a standard 5-year warranty. Contact us for a copy of our full warranty statement.

Do you do custom builds?

Each Microhome is a unique build and we work with our clients to develop the design, layout and finishes to cater to each individual requirement. Of course, there are some physical limitations due to the wheels and location of some of the integrated services, in which case we look at options to come up with the best possible solution.

How do I transport my MicroHome?

MicroHomes will deliver and install your unit to the location agreed upon in the contract.

Due to compliance reasons, all MicroHomes should be transported by a fit for purpose tow vehicle operated by a licenced towing or transport company. Therefore we ask that you consult with us prior to moving your MicroHome.

Do you make an off-grid model?

We offer a solar powered option, as well as completely off-grid solutions for instances when access to services is limited.

Do I need council approval to live in my MicroHome?

Each council has different rules and regulations, therefore we highly recommend you check with your local council to ensure a MicroHome can be installed into your desired location.

Do you offer finance?

We can connect you with a number of finance options so please contact us to discuss.
