This is our ex-demo Backyard Pod: a small, fixed studio with a footprint under 10m², built as a display unit and fitted with every option. It has been used to show the range, so you can see — and walk through — the actual pod you would be buying.

Inside it has acoustic wall insulation, heating and cooling, and timber-look vinyl plank flooring. Outside there are low-maintenance materials, an adjustable footing system and the exclusive MicroHomes slide-out awning. It is Australian designed and manufactured.

It suits a home office, guest retreat, creative studio, wellness room, hobby space or a teenage retreat.

Because a Backyard Pod is a fixed structure with a footprint under 10m², many councils treat something that small as exempt development that sits outside the usual building permit — but whether that exemption applies comes down to your council and your zone, so it has to be confirmed for your address before you buy.
